Cabin Crew Call for Further Negotiation

Cabin crew in dispute with British Airways have stepped back from announcing a date for strike action.

Dates for strike action were due to be announced earlier this week following a strike ballot among Unite memebers earlier this month. Instead cabin crew have called on the Unite union to try and negotiate a settlement with the airline over crew cuts and changes to working arrangements.

Unite members meeting yesterday unanimously backed the work of their negotiating team attempting to resolve the current dispute with the company.

A union spokesperson said: "The meeting empowered the union negotiating team to continue their work to reach a settlement in the row, and to propose strike dates for authorisation if it proves impossible to reach such an agreement through negotiation."
