We have been advised by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office that the travel advice for Thailand has been updated following the recent unrest in Bangkok and the explosions in the city yesterday. The FCO are now advising against ‘all but essential' travel to Bangkok. Click here for the full travel advice article.
We are working closely with ABTA and the FCO with regards to this developing situation. All travellers booked through Redfern Travel and currently in Bangkok or due to travel in the coming days have been identified by Redfern via our RedfernTravellerSecurity database and will be contacted individually.
ABTA has prepared a FAQ sheet for travellers and this has been posted on ABTA's website. The information can be accessed at following this link.
The core messages for customers currently in Bangkok, are to make contact with your travel provider immediately. Additionally, you are advised to contact relatives and friends back home and keep them informed of your whereabouts.
For customers due to depart to Bangkok, you are advised to keep up-to-date with any changes to your travel plans via your travel company's website / help-lines.
